- What is Villspor?
- Villspor is an outdoor app that helps you make safer decisions in nature. The app is built for Norwegian conditions, with tools that help you plan a safe trip, make good decisions along the way, and understand any risk afterwards.
- Which devices can I use Villspor on?
- Villspor is available for both iPhone and Android. Download it for free from the App Store and Google Play.
- Do I need a signal or data connection to use Villspor?
- No. You can download maps and content in advance, so you can navigate and assess conditions offline while you are out in the mountains.
- What maps and layers are included?
- We have basemaps for the whole world, both standard maps and satellite, with topographic maps for Norway, Austria, Belgium, Canada, the USA, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. We also have sea charts for Norway. In addition, we have several overlays: DNT cabins, property boundaries, and hiking trails, plus avalanche terrain, a heatmap of popular routes ("veivalg") on 200 m peaks, and snow depth for Norway.
- Can I import my own routes?
- You can import your own data (GPX), import routes from UT.no, and connect Strava. Downloading routes is not supported yet.
- What does Villspor cost?
- Villspor is free to download. And free to use. We are currently testing a model where those who find the app useful can support us with roughly the price of a coffee or two a month. If this covers the cost of running the app, we will keep the model.
- Where is Villspor built?
- Villspor is built in Norway, and we try to use as many European solutions as we can.
